When I initially started to have a discussion with Ram, I had a little apprehension that though we have discussed all the formalities but he was not sending the bank details for sending a booking amount but all my apprehensions were gone on the D-day. Sagar Makar, our man for next 5 days was waiting for us on the given point at the Airport in Kathmandu. Our preferred vehicle Toyota HiAce was there neat and clean. And we headed straight to Pokhara. Though we were stranded off in a traffic jam due to the land slide near Mankamna but Sagar kept us comfortable through out those 4-5 hours and didn't switched off the Air-conditioning in the sweltering heat. And this act of his made us all praises for him. Almost every other vehicle near us switched off Air Conditioning leaving their guests in sweat and dust but every effort was made by Sagar to keep us comfortable. Kudos to him. We reached Pokhara at 11 in the night after a 12 hour journey with a stop over of around 1 hour at MDM near Mugling. Sagar acted as a good guide as well and told us places on our interest including Sunrise Point, Paragliding, Eating Joints and Boating. Considering that I have a problem in walking long distances and climbing stairs, he either dropped off us at the most accessible point or either suggested a different sight seeing which will be of interest to us. Next day we decided to leave early at 4:30 in the morning to Kathmandu and he showed us on the way the snow capped mountains. We reached at 7 in the morning at Mugling and again stopped at MDM to have our Morning Breakfast. The decision to leave early paid off and we zoomed our way through Mugling though we heard that there have been long queues of traffic due to Landslide at Narayan ghat. We struggled when we entered Kathmandu because of the road conditions and construction work going on. Finally we reached our Hotel Shangri La at 2 pm. Next 2 days Sagar guided us to many a places including Thamel, Swayambunath Temple, Pashupatinath Temple and few other places but the best suggestion he gave us was of Chandragiri Hills and that is one place I would suggest and recommend as not to be missed when in Kathmandu.
Thanks Sagar for driving us through those rough lanes, terrains and roads. We would forever remember the courtesy extended to us during our 5 day trip and keeping us comfortable.
